Protect the source before restructuring it

Confirm ownership or authorization, freeze the script version, and identify dialogue, action, setting, chronology, and non-negotiable facts. Mark ambiguity instead of resolving it silently. A useful control surface should let an editor trace every proposed shot back to a beat and see where adaptation choices compress, reorder, omit, or visualize the written material.

Expose the shot-level decisions

Each proposed shot needs a narrative job, subject, action, framing, duration range, audio role, continuity dependency, and acceptance check. Separate source facts from visual interpretation. If the workflow offers automated suggestions, reviewers should still be able to reject a beat, divide it, merge it, change its emphasis, and preserve the reason for that intervention.

Keep the editorial method usable even if the live interface exposes a different set of controls.
